1. Vietnam eVisa
The Vietnam eVisa is an online mode of visa. Indian citizens can get this e-visa for tourism and business purposes. To get an e-visa, you have to visit Vietnam’s official government website. The e-visa process is simple and fast, and you don’t have to visit an embassy.

- Processing Time: 3-6 business days.
2. Vietnam Business Visa

Is the Visa on Arrival (VOA) Available for Indians?
Yes, as per the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India, Indian citizens are eligible for a Visa on Arrival (VOA) — but there are a few important rules to follow.
First, the VOA is only available if you are planning to enter Vietnam by air.
Second, a pre-approval letter is needed. Before boarding your flight, you must apply online and get a pre-approval letter issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department. Without this letter, you cannot receive a visa at the airport — even if you meet all other criteria.
How to Get a VOA for Vietnam?
After landing at a Vietnam international airport, you have to head to the Visa on Arrival counter. Now, present these documents:
- Your pre-approval letter
- A completed entry and exit form (can be downloaded online or filled out at the airport)
- Two passport-size photos
- Your original passport

Vietnam Visa Extension and Renewal
If you’re already staying in Vietnam and want to stay longer, you can either extend or renew your visa. This must be done before your current visa expires, and the process may take up to a week or more.
Both services are available at the Vietnam Immigration Department Office in Vietnam.
1. Visa Extension
Visa extension means extending your stay without leaving the country or applying for a new visa. It’s cheaper and simpler than renewal. You can only extend your visa for the same time as your current visa. For example, if your visa is for one month, you can only extend it for one more month.
2. Visa Renewal
Visa renewal means getting a completely new visa stamp in your passport. You should get your visa renewed if:
- Your current visa doesn’t meet extension requirements
- You want to change from a single-entry to a multiple-entry visa
- You want to switch from a 1-month to a 3-month visa
